Welcome to The ACP Advocate,
Today we begin by letting you know about some of ACP's recent activities related to policies to combat the opioid crisis. We've been letting members and the administration know what we think are some of the most important public health steps that can be undertaken, and we were encouraged to see that many of the treatment recommendations and measures in the White House's opioid plan that was released this week were in alignment with our recommendations.
In our second article we let you know about a recent event where ACP's vice president of Medical Practice and Quality, Shari Erickson, brought the College's message about the need to reduce administrative burdens on physicians. I'm happy to say that her remarks to the health IT industry at one of their major annual meetings were very well received.
Finally, I encourage you to take a look at our last article where we bring you a deep dive into the policy development process at ACP. I believe that our evidence-based approach to policy is a strength of our organization.
